Chicks Good to LKL
It was a heck of a night, Wednesday night for Larry King Live. The Dixie Chicks were the guests for the entire hour Wednesday night and helped CNN beat Hannity and Colmes on FNC. According to numbers from TV Newser, LKL pulled in 308,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo and 1,344,000 total viewers. Wednesday nights LKL was a classic. Hopefully CNN will be smart and repeat it this weekend.

CNN Gains Viewers in May 2006
Here are a few of the CNN stats for May 2006:
In May, CNN saw double digit increases in total viewers and the demo in key programs while FNC declined in the P25-54 with its worst deliveries in prime time since 9/11.
> Lou Dobbs Tonight continues to garner viewers in all demos, up a staggering 94% in total viewers
> HLN Glenn Beck premieres with 58% increase total viewers at 7pm
> Anderson Cooper 360 narrowed the P25-54 gap with FNC from 136% to 34% versus prior year
> Lou Dobbs Tonight reduced the P25-54 gap with FNC Special Report with Brit Hume from 146% to 11%
> The Situation Room has increased audience by double digits versus a year ago:
4pm: Up 36% in P2+ and Up 55% in P25-54
5pm: Up 26% in P2+ and Up 58% in P25-54
7pm: Up 36% in P2+ and Up 42% in P25-54
The Situation Room has narrowed the gap with FNC in the advertiser-coveted P25-54 demo significantly.

Michael Ware Joins CNN as Baghdad-based Correspondent
Source: CNN Press Release Michael Ware, the TIME magazine Baghdad bureau chief who gained renown for in-depth coverage of the insurgency in Iraq, will join CNN as a correspondent based in Baghdad, it was announced today by Tony Maddox, senior vice president of international newsgathering operations.A frequent guest to CNN over the last five years, Ware becomes a full-time international correspondent providing news reports and analysis across all CNN networks. On CNN/U.S., Ware will be a regular contributor to Anderson Cooper 360° as well as appearing on other programs.
"Michael is one of the most accomplished correspondents working in Iraq. His exclusive stories and unique insights into the workings of the insurgency will increase the scope and depth of our reporting," Maddox said. "He joins a fantastic CNN team of committed journalists in Baghdad, and we are very excited to have him as a full-time member of the CNN family."
"Michael is one of the most unique voices covering the region, said Jon Klein, president of CNN/U.S. "He makes a complex, constantly-shifting story easy to follow."
Ware began writing for TIME in 2001 with an assignment in the Solomon Islands and then one during the war in Afghanistan later that year. As coalition forces began preparations for war in 2003, Ware relocated to Iraq and became an embedded reporter with U.S. forces. He gained notice as one of the few Western journalists to travel to insurgent camps and report on that perspective of the war. He was also the only embedded journalist to cover the September 2005 assault on Tal Afar.
