Weekend Quick Takes

Don't have much time so here are some headlines:

>
CNN launches unprecedented week of coverage of the Middle East

>
CNN's 2 docs focus on political strife in North Korea and Aids

>
Q&A with CNN International's Managing Director Chris Cramer

Here's an excerpt from that interview:

> How do you respond to those who say that Fox News, has taken many of your viewers ?

We should realize that with the exception of one or two platforms abroad , "Fox News" is an American broadcast institution that is largely restricted to the United States. Thus, it does not represent a threat to us. They have undoubtedly came trough to a large segment of viewers who prefer their way of news presentation. However, there is a misrepresentation when we compare the ratings for both C.N.N and Fox. More people watch C.N.N daily, weekly, and monthly. Viewers of Fox news on the other hand watch it for longer periods than our viewers-who tend to be moving constantly. After all, they are only one TV channel while we have 14 different services. Each of us does it in his own way, the viewer finally decides what to watch.

Another Note From the Editor

Just wanted to say thanks to the many blog readers who e-mailed me about the possible ending my blog. Well for the time being the blog will stay and I will start blogging again. Here's what happened to the job proposal: Instead of getting a part-time manager's job at the retail store I work at, I have been offered a full-time position. The only problem is I am in the middle of a 9 month contract at the school I work in which I work. So the operation manager's position is on hold til at least mid-June 2006. So with that said blogging will continue. I have decided to continue blogging after Thanksgiving.

I have just felt overwhelmed the last number of weeks and felt I needed to take some time off from blogging. Thanks! DCG
