Beck Premieres May 8 on Headline Prime
Source: CNN Press Release Glenn Beck, a new topical talk show featuring radio personality Glenn Beck, will premiere on Headline News on Monday, May 8, at 7 p.m. (ET), it was announced today by Ken Jautz, executive vice president, CNN Worldwide. In a first for Headline News, the show will air seven days at a week at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., with encore presentations of weekday shows on Saturdays and Sundays.
Glenn Beck will be an unconventional look at the news of the day featuring Beck’s unique and often amusing perspective on top stories from world events and politics to pop culture and everyday hassles. Segments will include “Beck’s Notes,” a tongue-in-cheek overview of a story making news; “Real America,” which tells the stories of ordinary Americans overcoming extraordinary obstacles; “Ask Glenn,” in which Glenn dispenses “advice” to e-mailers on a range of topics; and the “Quality of Life Index,” a stock market-like segment on how the newsmakers of the day affect Americans’ quality of life.
The show will include in-studio guests, man-on-the-street interviews, reports from special contributors and Beck’s perspectives on the pop culture headlines of the day.
“Glenn’s style of talk is incredibly engaging, and his no-nonsense approach is one we’re confident will connect with our audience,” Jautz said. “This show is the perfect next step in the evolution of the Headline Prime line-up, which has continued to build strength since our revamp last year. Glenn is a great addition to our schedule, and we look forward to showcasing his distinctive take on the issues that are on people’s minds.”

I have gotten several e-mails over the last several weeks about the lack of updates. Well what can I say? Between my two full-time jobs my free time is very limited. That should be changing in the coming weeks as one of my jobs will be coming to an end and I move up the ladder at my second job. Just today I was informed I have been promoted to Assistant Manager of the retail store I work at. I take over that position in early June at which time my free time should increase. Thanks for your patience.

TW's Buying of Court TV Could Mean Court's Talent and Execs Moving to HLN
Source: New York Post Court TV is set to lend on- air talent and executives to CNN's Headline News.
A deal between Time Warner and John Malone's Liberty Media, which will result in Malone owning the Atlanta Braves and Time Warner taking control of Court TV, is all but wrapped up.
But the announcement has been held up as Time Warner plots how to shuffle Court TV executives and talent, which may include frontwoman Catherine Crier, over to CNN, according to sources.
Once the deal is complete - an announcement could come this week - Court TV will be merged into Time Warner's Turner Broadcasting, Multichannel News reported last week.
The plan could involve airing episodes of "Law & Order" on Court TV, sources said, while Court TV's management, including CEO Henry Schleiff, could take over management at CNN Headline News.
"The question is how do we use [Court TV] to help CNN," said one source close to the matter.

Changes on the Way for PZN?
I subscribe to many survey spots on the internet and today I completed a survey about cable news progams, Paula Zahn Now more specifically. Anyway the survey was about what stories I thought fit in on PZN. The survey included many of the topics covered in the last number of months on the program, including the danger in getting a pedicure investigation. And I can't help but wonder changes are a comin' to PZN. Maybe a more hard news format? Maybe a more tabloid format? OR maybe a whole new program completely. Just found the survey interesting.
I can't help but remember about 6 months before Headline News took the NEWS out of primetime, I completed a survey from the same survey group about what type of programming fit in on the channel. My advice was stick with NEWS but now we all know the outcome of that.

CNN's Senior Political Correspondent Fascinated By Politics
Source: The Patriot News While CNN's senior political correspondent jokingly refers to herself as "a cynical journalist who has seen it all," she still is fascinated by politics and especially voters.Seeing thousands of people greet the president inside a sweltering airport hanger or folks waiting three hours after their workdays for a town hall meeting with their senator is why she does what she does.
"I'm in awe of those people," Crowley said from her office in Washington, D.C. "I think this is what the founders had in mind. I don't use these terms, but it's awesome. And it's the greatest people watching, ever. I get to ask people all these strange questions that if I weren't a reporter, they would call the cops. It feeds my curiosity constantly." MORE
