Chinoy Joins Pacific Council on International Policy

Source:PCOIP Press Release CNN's Senior Asia Correspondent Mike Chinoy will be appointed as the Pacific Council on International Policy's inaugural Edgerton Fellow in Korean Security beginning July 1, 2006. "We are very lucky to have secured Mike Chinoy's diverse talents," said President of the Pacific Council Geoffrey Garrett. "The specter of nuclear proliferation and political conflict on the Korean peninsula threatens Asia's growing role as a driver of the global economy. Mike's insights and expertise will prove an invaluable resource to the Council and to the West Coast."

Before leading CNN's overall coverage of the Asia-Pacific region, Chinoy served as CNN's Hong Kong Bureau chief (1996-2000) and the network's Beijing Bureau chief (1987-95).
