Report: Iran Lifts Ban on CNN
Source: CNN.com CNN was allowed to "resume its activities" in Iran Tuesday, the country's official news agency reported, after President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad asked that a ban on CNN journalists be lifted and the network be allowed to continue its work there.
CNN was not directly informed by the Iranian government of the ban when it was reported to be imposed Monday, and has not been formally informed that the ban has been lifted.
The official Iranian news agency IRNA said the president's chief of staff asked that the ban be lifted in a letter to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance sent Monday night. MORE
