CNN Newsource Hires Brianna Keilar as Correspondent for D.C. Bureau

Source: CNN Press Release Brianna Keilar is joining CNN Newsource’s Washington, D.C., bureau, it was announced today by Paul Crum, executive director of news operations for CNN/U.S. Keilar will serve as a national correspondent and will report live from the scene of breaking news events and from the nation’s capital, providing live reports for approximately 800 CNN Newsource partner stations. This appointment secures a third general assignment correspondent for affiliates in the Washington, D.C., area to cover national news stories as well as breaking news.

“The addition of Brianna means we can offer our affiliates another well-rounded journalist from our D.C. ranks, and it furthers our expansion of the Washington, D.C. bureau,” Crum said. “Brianna is an engaging reporter whose strengths include enterprise reporting and a thirst for news. She’s a news junkie.”

Keilar, a native of Australia, comes to CNN Newsource from MTVu, MTV’s college network. At MTVu, Keilar served as an anchor, reporter and producer. Concurrently, she worked as a fill-in anchor for CBS news updates. Prior to that, Keilar was a general assignment reporter at KIMA-TV, a CNN and CBS affiliate in Yakima, Wash. Keilar also spent time as in radio serving as a morning show personality and weekend anchor. Keilar began her journalism career as a production assistant at KTVU-TV, a CNN and FOX affiliate in San Francisco.
