Cooper on Fox, MSNBC's "Downright Ridiculous" Holloway Coverage
Source: Media Matters Anderson Cooper reported on August 11 that although "nothing new is happening" in the case of American teenager Natalee Holloway, "you'd never know that if you listen to just about every other cable news channel." He then showed a video montage of "what the other guys were reporting just last night [August 10]," such as Fox News' Bill O'Reilly and MSNBC's Dan Abrams and Joe Scarborough, documenting the "hours and hours" of what Cooper called the "downright ridiculous" coverage of the Aruba story. UPDATE: 6:00pm ET An e-mailer makes this observation: "You notice Cooper didn't mention Nancy Grace? The coverage is overboard he's right but, to exclude Nancy, makes him look like a fool."
MORE: 7:10pm ET This from another e-mailer: "Cooper also made comments on Charlie Rose the other night, comparing the sky high ratings of the Holloway “case” to that of his reports on Niger. I think the point he’s trying to make is that what’s popular takes priority over what’s important at other news networks."
And this from another e-mailer:"Maybe Anderson didn't include Grace because she didn't talk about Hollaway for two days, prior to Anderson's remarks, while everyone else kept at it."
