CNN's 'Situation'

As Inside Politics gets ready to wrap-up its run on CNN today, The Situation Room is getting geared up to debut on Monday. The Orlando Sentinel gives us a preview of what can be expected from The Situation Room. Here's how CNN's top exec Jim Walton describes the program: "We're going to try to be transparent," says Jim Walton, president of the CNN News Group. "We're going to try to allow the viewers to know what we know as we know it."

Jon Klein, president of CNN/U.S., says the fast-paced program will showcase Washington and world correspondents, as well as top-notch analysts and commentators. Those include CNN's Jeff Greenfield and Bill Schneider, as well as former Crossfire hosts Paul Begala, James Carville and Robert Novak. MORE

Well I guess we can write off Novak on the contributers list after yesterday. Anyway, The Situation Room replaces Inside Politics and Crossfire. The Situation Room debuts at 3pm EDT Monday.
