CNN To Air Memorial Day Special
Source: CNN PressRoom CNN’s Wolf Blitzer goes behind-the-scenes with U.S. forces in “Wolf Blitzer: Behind the Lines,” a special program highlighting personal stories of U.S. troops serving in the Persian Gulf. The one-hour special will premiere Sunday, May 29, at 1:00 p.m. (ET), during the second hour of Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer.
Blitzer’s recent week-long trip to the Middle East included stops in Kuwait, Qatar and Iraq, where he was embedded with Gen. John Abizaid, head of U.S. Central Command, and spent time aboard the U.S.S. Carl Vinson, where he talked with the Navy’s top guns. In addition, Blitzer visited the Iraqi base at Umm Qasar in southern Iraq, interviewing Iraqi troops about the unique challenges they face battling insurgency on their home soil.
The special will re-air on Sunday, May 29, at 5:00 p.m. (ET) and on Monday, May 30, at 3:00 p.m. (ET). Linda Roth is the special’s executive producer, and Lucy Spiegel is the senior executive producer.
