Pope Funeral Observations

Will be posting observations through-out the day. So this post will be updated:
> One e-mailer describes the first minutes of the funeral like this: " As the clock ticks into 4AM EST, not a word from the anchors.
We get a clean package of ticker-less graphic – just a small CNN bug on the left, live bug on top left and a somewhat larger graphics highlighting the title of the programming – “The Funeral of Pope John Paul II”
Wind has beginning to blow very hard in the Vatican - especially at alter.
Actually at 4:13, silence was broke for the first time to explain the significant of the color red in the religion/
4:16: We get graphics labeled Poland to a video feed that appears to be the Vatican. - It seems that they are ironing out the wrinkles."

> Here's DCG's two-cents worth: I am a sucker for any event the international CNN correspondents take part in on CNN/US. CNN's coverage was dignified through-out the week. Really glad the news crawl was gone through out the coverage of the funeral and CNN had minimal graphics on the screen as well. Talking was kept to a minimum by the ac, ca and others. I guess if you wanted "comment free" coverage you could always turn to C-span. Thought the "look from around the world" was really cool.
