City Official Upset Toronto Doesn't Exist On CNN Maps
Source Toronto Sun Toronto City Council member Gloria Lindsay Luby seems to be suffering from a weather-map inferiority complex. The Etobicoke councillor said during yesterday's Expo debate that Toronto isn't on the world map and needs to be.
The world map she was referring to is CNN's weather map. The Atlanta-based news network's weather map includes Montreal and Vancouver, but not Toronto -- the centre of the universe.
"Is there any way we can write to CNN and tell them we exist?" Lindsay Luby said. "I'm just wondering how we can get on on the world map."
CNN's Lauren Hammann said Toronto isn't on the network's current map but CNN's "constantly evaluating our graphics and make changes periodically. We do feature Toronto when a weather story warrants," Hammann wrote in an e-mail.
Toronto is featured in CNN's city roll that plays after the weather segments, Hammann added.
