JK's Apprearance On Charlie Rose
Here are a few highlights from Jon Klein's appearance on The Charlie Rose program on PBS late Wednesday night. Not alot of new stuff BUT here we go.
> No date set for the cancellation of Crossfire. Klein says the political producers are looking at several different ideas.
> Pick a story of the day and POUND IT IN THE GROUND ALL DAY LONG. Those are not JK's exact words but that's what he essentially said.
> Anchors/correspondents need to show some personality.
> A news channel devoted to liberals wouldn't work because liberals seem to sample a little bit of all of it and be happy. FNC is a success with the conservatives because they (righties) always want to find something to fight and scream about.
> What is essentially his goal for CNN? To make it a place where viewers can find a fresh angle on a story and fresh information.
> Once again the storytelling topic came up. JK said the goal of primetime is to take stories "behind the headlines".
