CNN-I's New Hire Starts Job Anchoring CNN-US/I Tsunami Disaster Coverage
Source: Digital Spy One of CNN-I's newest anchors/reporter is getting his feet wet hosting a portion of CNN's continuous coverage of the tsunami disaster. Hugh Riminton, whom CNN recently hired from Australia's Nine Network, is anchoring the dual CNN/US and CNNI broadcasts from Sri Lanka.
CNN-US is providing far stronger tsunami coverage than any other American news services by making extensive use of its 24/7 international news service. CNN has more than a DOZEN reporters/correspondents across the tsunami ravaged area. CNN-US is scheduling hours of live coverage from CNN International this weekend in place of pre-recorded programming such as Next@CNN and People In The News.
BUT oneTVspyer says they have had enough of the continous coverage: "With CNN's neverending boasting about this and patting themselves on the back, this is looking like exploitation for ratings." While another TVspyer says, "Don't even tell me about CNN promoting itself when FOX News Channel for the entire month of December and most of November was running those "Only One" promotions during every single commercial break. Not to mention every single anchor on that network who publishes a book always manages to find some way to promote it on his or her show.
